Purpose
Be part of a leading Financial Institution in Malta as a Banking Systems Administrator. This role focuses on supporting payment systems, developing SQL reports, managing incidents and ensuring efficient system operations. Knowledge of SEPA/EURO payments, database management and SQL reporting is essential.
Location Requirement
Candidates must be available to work on-site in Malta for 1 year.
Key Responsibilities
Data Reporting & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain SQL reports to support business operations.
- Analyze and interpret data from payment systems to generate actionable insights.
- Create data visualizations with tools like Excel or Power BI to enhance decision-making.
- Act as the first point of contact for payment system issues, assessing and prioritizing incidents.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and analyze trends for process improvements.
- Assist in gathering and documenting change requests, prioritizing based on business needs.
- Coordinate with IT teams to implement system updates, patches, and new features with minimal disruption.
Business User Support:
- Serve as a key liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring effective communication.
- Lead weekly meetings to review incidents, change requests and upcoming updates.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize payment operations, reporting processes, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Custom Report Development:
- Work with business units to gather requirements and develop tailored SQL queries.
- Continuously improve reporting templates to enhance clarity and efficiency.
Technical Expertise:
- Minimum of 3 years in payment operations, reporting, or a related role.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems like Oracle or SQL Server.
- Basic understanding of SEPA and EURO payment systems.
- Familiarity with Oracle Banking Applications is a plus.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
- Relevant certifications in payment systems, business analysis or quality assurance are an advantage.
